چکیده
This paper analyzes a bike-sharing service from both network efficiency and demand profiles perspectives. Specifically, it focuses on the BIZI in city of Zaragoza (Spain), which was launched May 2008 with aim increasing use bicycle city. Since then, number users has increased smoothly, currently constitutes an integrated transport mode as alternative to cars public The evolution service, using analysis show that rapidly over time until reaching optimum value after two years. Furthermore, regression models characterizes groups most this relates factors such weather conditions, bike lanes, extensions. will allow us characterize for can be great importance when developing payment systems.

Prediction of Bike Sharing Demand
Bike sharing systems have been gaining prominence all over the world with more than 500 successful systems being deployed in major cities like New York, Washington, London. With an increasing awareness of the harms of fossil based mean of transportation, problems of traffic congestion in cities and increasing health consciousness in urban areas, citizens are adopting bike sharing systems with z...
متن کاملService Network Design of Bike Sharing Systems
Bike sharing has recently enabled sustainable means of shared mobility through automated rental stations in metropolitan areas. Spatio-temporal variation of bike rentals leads to imbalances in the distribution of bikes causing full or empty stations in the course of a day. Ensuring the reliable provision of bikes and bike racks is crucial for the viability of these systems. This paper presents ...
متن کاملRobust Repositioning to Counter Unpredictable Demand in Bike Sharing Systems
Bike Sharing Systems (BSSs) experience a significant loss in customer demand due to starvation (empty base stations precluding bike pickup) or congestion (full base stations precluding bike return). Therefore, BSSs operators reposition bikes between stations with the help of carrier vehicles. Due to unpredictable and dynamically changing nature of the demand, myopic reasoning typically provides...
متن کاملDynamic Repositioning to Reduce Lost Demand in Bike Sharing Systems
Bike Sharing Systems (BSSs) are widely adopted in major cities of the world due to concerns associated with extensive private vehicle usage, namely, increased carbon emissions, traffic congestion and usage of nonrenewable resources. In a BSS, base stations are strategically placed throughout a city and each station is stocked with a pre-determined number of bikes at the beginning of the day. Cu...
متن کاملBalancing Bike Sharing Systems
Bike Sharing Systems became popular in recent years to extend the public transportation network of cities or regions. Most research in this area focuses on finding the optimal locations for bike sharing stations. Still various approaches on how to operate such a system efficiently exist. The usefulness of a bike sharing system strongly depends on the user convenience which is directly connected...
